Developmentally Appropriate Care of the Pediatric Patient (CE)
Healthcare professionals should be committed to providing quality patient care. In order to do so, they must understand a patient's age-specific characteristics, needs, and challenges; this is especially true for pediatric patients. Understanding these features allows nurses to better meet their patients' needs. Healthcare staff must develop and demonstrate competencies related to age-specific patient care. This course will discuss the important age-specific characteristics of the pediatric patient from infancy to adolescence that will assist in improving competency and the quality of care delivered.
