Suicidal Tendencies: Screening for Risk of Self-Harm

In 2009, 36,547 Americans committed suicide. Overall, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. It is the third leading cause of death among 15- to 24-year-olds. Each year, over 1 million Americans attempt suicide. This course will provide information to help you keep potentially suicidal patients safe. Topics that will be covered include the importance of screening patients for risk of suicide, the risk factors and warning signs for suicide and preventing suicide in the inpatient setting.
